The Imperial Chinese Lamp Company was formed to manufacture in New York a limited number of Chinese lamps using vetted, authentic Chinese vases and other Chinese works of art from the Han Dynasty (200 BC-200 AD) through to the Republic Period (1916-1949). Each lamp is unique and numbered.
The Company’s founder has been involved in studying, collecting and dealing in Chinese art for more than 35 years, His collections have been sold at Christies, Sotheby’s and other international auction houses.
The Company’s lamps will be of Tiffany quality. They will be made with diamonds, emeralds, rubies, sapphires and other precious and semi-precious stones. All of the lamp fittings will be hand-made using 14k gold. The handmade shades will use Qing dynasty silks. Many of the lamps will have 18th/19th C. French Ormolu. Uniquely designed by the Company, the lamp finials will incorporate 18th/19th C. Chinese jades and underneath the jades will be a 14K gold dragon, the logo of the Company. They will be the most beautiful Chinese lamps ever made and subject to the Company’s unique patent-pending design and fabrication process.
The Company expects to have its website populated by Q1 2022. Its lamps will not be sold at retail and offered only to leading architects, designers and decorators, by invitation only.
